Impact Infrastructure

Christy Oi Ling Chan, BCom University of Toronto – Finance & Economics (with Ben Rommelaere and John Parker of Impact Infrastructure).

We have partnered with the University of Toronto, since the inception of their internship program. For the last three years we have hired fourth year economics students to work with us on infrastructure valuation research projects.

Last week was the ECO400Y Economics Internship Presentations day. As usual there were very interesting presentations from students. Ben Rommelaere and I attended the thirteen very polished reports on the students’ work terms. Christy Oi Ling Chan has spent the year with us and witnessed our company funding, expansion, and product launch. She did a wonderful job for us over the year and also did us proud with her presentation. Here is the presentation she gave last week.

Christy is continuing with her studies. She has been admitted to do a Masters in Financial Management at Vlerick Business School in Brussels, Belgium. We wish her all the best and look forward to keeping in touch and vicariously sharing in her future successes.

An update on past students:

  • Ju Li our student from last year is, as of last September, with an economics consulting firm Analysis Group as an analyst at their Boston office.
  • Last year I reported that our intern was completing a masters degree in economics at U of T. Well, Ying Bao (2013 BSc, University of Toronto, and 2014 MA, University of Toronto) is now working on her Ph.D. in marketing at the University of Toronto.

Spring has me thinking “mighty oaks from little acorns grow.”
