AutoCASE for Stormwater Management – V2.0

The new version of AutoCASE looks great! You can expect to see it in a couple of weeks (we are just putting some finishing touches on it). Over the next few weeks I’ll give you a sneak preview of some of the extensive list of new features.

AutoCASE

Different surface types, such as grass, green roofs, and herbaceous plants are now all analyzed differently and more accurately in terms of their attendant costs and benefits.

We used to consider only one type of porous pavement and now there are now multiple types of permeable pavements, each with different costs and benefits. The types of permeable pavement included in the new version of AutoCASE are:

  • Porous Concrete
  • Porous Asphalt
  • Interlocking Porous Concrete Pavers (IPCP)
  • Grass Block Pavers (also known as Grasscrete)

Unfortunately - Somewhat Porous Pavement

(Unfortunately – somewhat porous pavement)

Because AutoCASE is cloud-based, users will see the new version as soon as it is released. It still works as a stand-alone web application (for early stage planning studies) and as a plug-in to Autodesk’s AutoCAD Civil 3D so as designs are modified in the drawing they can automatically be updated in AutoCASE. We are also excited that an extension is coming soon for Autodesk’s Infraworks 360 – a a complete sketch-plan-design-collaborate program that adds 3-D visual and contextual dimensions to AutoCASE.
