CIIX to pilot in three communities in Ontario

“Following our successful symposium in November, the Canadian Impact Infrastructure Exchange (CIIX) will launch a pilot program in three Ontario communities in 2015 that will analyze three real world water infrastructure projects (water supply/storm water management/wastewater) in Ontario and will perform a comprehensive sustainability analysis of the proposed infrastructure plan (or design, depending on project stage) ensuring high ESG standards. It will bundle the three small projects into an investment ready opportunity and engage responsible investors in this opportunity. It will test this approach to creating high ESG standards in an infrastructure portfolio for responsible investors.” more …

The CIIX will improve the transparency of infrastructure projects by measuring their environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects in a Building Information Modelling (BIM) framework. The CIIX will use the powerful, transparent and flexible analysis in AutoCASE to assess total benefits and costs which include externalities – such as the valuation of risks, social impact and environmental impact of the various infrastructure investments.
